MacBooks Are Trash!
This is a rant…
First, I have a many Apple products. I love Apple. The design. The marketer. Steve Job was amazing.
About decade or more I started using Apple products in High School. There was a huge iMac at my school that I used — a lot. I loved the GUI (the graphical user interface). The hardware was better than windows. Speakers were louder. The display was clearer.
Mac was better in everyway.
Now, a decade later, MacBooks aren’t to great. There’s a bunch of hardware issues. Keyboard issues, etc.
My story:
So, I buy used laptops. Ever since 2020. I’ve been buying used ThinkPads. And other business laptops. All from eBay and they worked fine. No issues.
I wanted to give MacBook as a gift to someone. They only wanted a MacBook. Fine.
I went on eBay. Hunting. Got one. Big Sur, Retina display, 1 TB SSD. It looked dope. Bought it.
I got it a couple days later. Looked good. Sounded great… I looked at the top right, it needed a software update. Fine.
It took a whole hour to update.
And when I rebooted it — I couldn’t find the internal hard drive anymore. What?
I messed around with it for 2 hours. Nothing work. I scoured forums, YouTube. Nothing.
I still have a warranty. Called Apple, said it was to old they wouldn’t take it back. And — it’s a hardware issue that will cost a lot of money to fix. Ugh.
eBay has a good programs that protects buyers — and I’m getting a refund.
Geez.
P.S. At 22:19 is the problem I was experiencing, Apple has had this problem since 2009.
Geez.
