The GPU Market Is Heating Up! A Third Player Enters The Scene!

My last post was about me picking parts for my first build. I’m kinda nervous. Never built a computer before. And I’ve broke my share of laptops in the past. Like three, I would say. So my track record with hardware has been pretty shoddy.

As I gear up, I’ve been doing my research, and keeping abreast of the hardware industry.

The industry has been crazy the last two years. PC components like GPUs, CPUs, motherboards, etc. have been pretty expensive for the average consumer.

Only a few few months ago basic GPU were selling for $1000 +.

3090s. 3080s. 3070s.

Tons of tech enthusiasts like me were complaining all over the Tech landscape.

… But now things are changing. Crypto miners are selling their GPUs. Flooding the markets, which is lowering demand and increasing the supply of the beloved components.

This is good for average consumers, we get cheap, high quality GPUs!!

The next thing that’s happening is Intel. Intel is shipping out their Intel Arc GPUs.

For reference, they’re only two players in this space — Nvidia and AMD.

Nvidia dominates, of course.

So, now we get Intel entering the space, which is cool. However they’re initial isn’t as strong. That sucks (I knew it would, they have to push out something cause Nvidia is coming out with the 40 series graphic cards in a couple months).

But Intel’s engineers are gonna keep making a better product every year.

With this competition, we’ll see more GPU on the market, making the availability for the average consumer.

That’s what I foresee.

Cheap PC parts, in general.

What a time to be alive.
