Upgrade your hardware, pronto!

I’m fresh off a awe inspiring trip from Micro Center, tech heaven.

Don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but watch this: This is Micro Center, PC Heaven.

As I was walking through the Micro Center in my location, I was in awe of all the tech. GPUs, CPUs, RAM, Gaming PCs, huge TVs, laptops of any kind, networking hardware, etc.

Micro Center is the king of hardware, and I prefer it to Best Buy. No shade to Best Buy, though. They’re doing pretty good revenue wise — seems like everyone in America are investing in tech.

Micro Center also has amazing staff that are all tech nerds and understand tech well. I had a short 5 min convo with a sales guy in the laptop section of the store, he was so knowledge and helpful, that I almost forgot he was selling me.

As I was shuffling though the store, I was lamenting my previous years, where I had this old laptop. I was working on a old ACER laptop that would crash, and shut down. I held on to this crappy laptop because I was broke — and thought I couldn’t afford a upgrade. Yet, that’s not true! The last two ThinkPads I’ve had were sub $450. And they work fine.

It’s not expensive. It doesn’t take that much time. And you’ll increase your productivity.

At my old internship, they took FOREVER to upgrade our tech. Many, many times I’m doing a transaction with a customer and my computer will crash. Our computers were definitely 20 + years old. Which is cute for a home lab. But our computers would freeze when working on Spreadsheets. Writing a Google doc. Or even running our POS software— right in front of customers.
